The RN are using MAPS as the software to facilitate the Geographic Squad Pooling for Type 23 Frigates based in Portsmouth to enable the more efficient management of pooled personnel. The usage of MAPS means that the planners are all using the same system providing much needed coherence whilst at the same time ensuring that there is a better quality of life given to the Junior Rates being managed by the Squad Pooling system.
