CMA - CGM
CMA – CGM is France’s number one shipping company and third largest in the world. It is an international operator serving maritime shipping routes around the world with door-to-door services that combine maritime shipping with rail, river and highway transport. Today CMA-CGM operates 387 ships on more than 150 shipping routes, with a further 79 new vessels on order for delivery between 2008 and 2011. CMA –CGM recognized that their existing systems could not cope with the tremendous growth in their fleet, and therefore the numbers of seafarers they would need to schedule and manage.
Additionally CMA-CGM wanted a comprehensive system to handle both the shoreside activities as well as a ship side system for the master, and one that would communicate form ship to shore and vice versa. MAPS was selected after an exhaustive evaluation of the functionality, the ability of Manpower Software plc to assist in the implementation, and a comprehensive set of test case scenarios. The system is being rolled out to include remote users in CMA-CGM’s crewing agent and affiliates
