NATO

North Atlantic treaty Organization (NATO) is an alliance for collective defense. It currently has 28 member states and its Operational Headquarters is based in Mons, Belgium. NATO uses MAPS in a number of areas: first of all, it provides a complete personnel management facility for the 15,000 Peacetime Establishment (PE) personnel assigned to NATO. The Alliance’s core business is balancing Combined Joint Statements Of Requirement (CJSORs) against capabilities offered by the member nations. This predictive Force Generation process is managed using MAPS, thereby assisting the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander EURope (DSACEUR) with enhancing delivery of NATO’s military output and enabling equitable burden sharing by nations. Finally, MAPS has been selected by the NATO Special operations Headquarters to manage its assets and outputs.
