  • MAPS Maritime Suite selected by the world’s leading family entertainment company for its cruise line business

  • Continued growth in its Healthcare sector, which now has over 185 NHS Trusts across the UK using MAPS Health Suite

Maritime

During Q1 2010 the world’s leading family entertainment company selected MAPS Maritime Suite for its cruise line business to better manage its shore-side crew operations over the coming years and to provide an effective crew rostering solution for both current and future ships.

Healthcare

In the first quarter ended 31 August 2009, the following UK NHS Trusts awarded new contracts for MAPS Healthroster include:

e-Rostering

  • Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust
  • East Kent NHS Hospitals Trust
  • Enfield Community Healthcare Services NHS Trust
  • Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Leeds Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
  • Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • South Birmingham Community Health
  • Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust

South Birmingham Community Health selected Allocate Software’s MAPS Healthroster solution to support its ‘Electronic Turnaround’ initiative, with the intention of a Trust-wide roll out. Key to choosing MAPS Healthroster is the proven reporting and auditing capability, which will be utilised by the Trust to support the introduction of cost reduction programmes through improved staff rostering.

Doctor Rostering

Following the release of the MAPS Healthroster solution for the electronic rostering of doctors, Q1 2010 saw the first two contracts confirmed:

  • Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust ("BHRUT")
  • NHS Isle of Wight

Both BHRUT and NHS Isle of Wight further extended their investment in MAPS Healthroster in order to assign doctors more efficiently to their duties.

Gill Perry, Deputy Director of HR at BHRUT said, "As one of the largest operating Trusts in England, we are always looking for ways to improve and simplify the processes involved with managing a large workforce, while at the same time maintaining the delivery of the best possible level of care. This was particularly the case with the management of the rotas of junior doctors and medical staff, which is a highly complex process that became even more prevalent with the new legislative requirements of the European Working Time Directive."

Web Timesheets

In the first quarter, Barts and The London NHS Trust signed a contract to use Web Timesheets, a module within the MAPS Health Suite which helps to achieve improved accuracy of payroll data and alleviate the administrative burden of timesheet management across departments.

Ian Bowles, Chief Executive Officer of Allocate Software, commented: "I am delighted by the continued demand for our industry leading applications. The contract win in Maritime reinforces our market leading position in this sector. Our Healthcare customer community also grew to over 185 NHS Trusts, of which 91 NHS Trusts have selected MAPS Healthroster. This makes MAPS Healthroster and BSMS the most commonly used e-Rostering and temporary staff management software applications in the NHS. In addition, four private healthcare providers use MAPS Healthroster to great effect."
